Jake Neukom

Jake Neukom, Physical Therapist, Hillsdale Community Health Center, and Keturah Taking care of a young child is hard work. When she is crying, it may seem even harder. At times, you may feel angry, tense, worried or sad. It’s OK to have these feelings. But don’t ever take it out on the child. If you feel like you are losing your cool, take a break. Call someone you trust to relieve you for a while, or put the child in a crib or playpen for a few minutes. Shaking a baby, even for a few seconds, can result in cerebral palsy, blindness, paralysis, brain damage, and even death. NEVER SHAKE A BABY! If you need help, call 1-800-4-a-CHILD.
